About this Etna guide

EtnaHike.it is an independent guide to hiking Mount Etna: what each guided hike really includes, how high it goes, where you may walk without a guide, how the cable car works, and the hikes and tours sold on GetYourGuide. We are not a tour operator, a guides' association, the park authority or GetYourGuide. We compare what is on offer so you can decide whether you need a guide at all, and if so, which hike suits you.

Facts on this site are checked against official and reliable sources (the INGV Etna observatory's bulletins, the ordinances of the municipalities on the volcano, the regional civil protection, the Parco dell'Etna, the Funivia dell'Etna and UNESCO) and against the live GetYourGuide listings, including recent guest reviews. Access to the summit changes with the volcano, sometimes from one day to the next; when an official source or your guide and this site disagree, trust them.
